About The Theological Seminary of Kentucky
The Theological Seminary of Kentucky (TSK) is a fully accredited seminary devoted to preparing the next generation of ministers, theologians, and chaplains for impactful service in the Kingdom of God. Accreditation is granted through Chaplains International and the Chaplains Training Institute, guaranteeing that every program we offer meets the highest standards of academic excellence, ministry preparation, and vocational credibility. This means that our students graduate with degrees that are not only recognized in the academic community but also respected by churches, ministries, and organizations nationwide.
Accredited Dual Degree Programs
TSK offers a dual degree program in Theology and Chaplaincy that spans from the Associate of Theology and Chaplaincy through the Doctor of Theology and Chaplaincy (Ph.D.). This structure allows students to begin their education at the associate level and progress seamlessly through bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies. Each degree is carefully designed to integrate rigorous theological study with applied chaplaincy training, ensuring that every graduate is both biblically grounded and practically prepared.
Unlike traditional seminaries that separate academic theology from vocational chaplaincy, TSK brings them together in one comprehensive program. Students do not merely study the history of the Church, the writings of the Fathers, or the doctrines of the faith—they also learn how to bring that knowledge into hospitals, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and community settings where spiritual guidance is desperately needed.
Flexible Learning Options
We recognize that students today balance education with family, employment, and ministry responsibilities. That is why TSK provides a flexible learning model that combines the accessibility of online classes with the richness of in-person lectures and seminars. This hybrid approach ensures that students across the region and beyond can access a TSK education while still benefiting from the face-to-face mentorship, fellowship, and community that comes from classroom interaction.
Hands-On Training and Ministry Internships
At the heart of TSK’s mission is the belief that ministry must be practiced, not only studied. Our programs place a strong emphasis on hands-on training and supervised internships, allowing students to fulfill credit hours while serving in real ministry environments. These internships are carefully curated and supervised by experienced faculty and ministry leaders, giving students opportunities to grow in confidence and skill.
Students at TSK may find themselves:
Providing spiritual care and comfort in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Ministering to inmates in jails and prisons, learning firsthand the challenges of correctional chaplaincy.
Serving in local churches and community ministries, supporting pastors and lay leaders.
Assisting in hospital and hospice chaplaincy, walking with families and patients through some of life’s most difficult moments.
This hands-on model ensures that graduates leave TSK not only with a degree on paper but with proven ministry experience that employers and churches recognize as invaluable.
Chaplaincy Training for Real-World Impact
The chaplaincy component of our dual degree program is one of the most unique and powerful aspects of TSK. Our students are equipped to serve as chaplains in diverse environments, including corrections facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, first responder units, the military, and corporate settings. Coursework is paired with guided fieldwork, so every student graduates with both the academic knowledge and the pastoral skills required for effective chaplaincy.
Students learn how to handle sensitive and demanding tasks such as grief counseling, crisis intervention, end-of-life ministry, addiction recovery support, family counseling, and death notifications—all under the mentorship of experienced faculty and chaplains. This training produces ministers who are not only theologically sound but also emotionally resilient, compassionate, and capable of ministering in the most challenging of contexts.
Faculty and Mentorship
At TSK, students are taught by ministers and theologians who have lived the very work they now teach. Our faculty members bring decades of combined experience in church leadership, chaplaincy, pastoral counseling, and theological scholarship. This ensures that every course strikes the balance between biblical depth and practical application. Students are not just educated—they are mentored, guided, and equipped for lifelong service.
Affordable, Accessible Education
We firmly believe that a call to ministry should never be hindered by financial obstacles. That is why TSK is committed to offering affordable tuition while maintaining the highest standards of education and training. Students can pursue their education without the crushing weight of debt, making TSK one of the most cost-effective and accessible pathways to ministry preparation in the country.
Mission and Vision
The mission of the Theological Seminary of Kentucky is clear: to raise up leaders who are biblically grounded, spiritually mature, and practically equipped to serve the Church and the world. We believe theological education should not be confined to the classroom but should flow into hospitals, prisons, communities, and churches. Every student at TSK is trained to be a vessel of hope, healing, and truth in the environments where they are called.
Our vision is to see men and women leave our seminary ready to impact lives, reduce suffering, spread the gospel, and strengthen the body of Christ through sound teaching and compassionate service.

Online Course Structure at TSK
At the Theological Seminary of Kentucky, every degree program—from Associate through Ph.D.—is available through our flexible online learning format. Students can complete the majority of their coursework online, gaining access to lectures, assignments, and discussions from wherever they are.
To maintain personal connection and academic accountability, we also offer one in-person lecture at our campus each month. This provides students the opportunity to engage directly with faculty, participate in classroom dialogue, and build community with their peers while keeping travel requirements minimal.
In addition to online study, students will also complete a set amount of hands-on training throughout their enrollment. These supervised ministry experiences take place in real-world settings such as churches, hospitals, nursing homes, jails, and prisons. Each placement counts toward credit hours and ensures that graduates leave not only with academic knowledge, but also with proven ministry experience and confidence to serve.
This blended model of online courses, monthly in-person lectures, and practical training makes TSK both accessible and comprehensive, providing the best of both worlds: the flexibility of distance learning and the richness of hands-on ministry preparation.
On-Campus Course Structure at TSK
The Theological Seminary of Kentucky also offers a fully on-campus learning option for every degree program, from Associate through Ph.D. Students who choose this pathway have the opportunity to live among fellow students in a supportive, Christ-centered community where fellowship and accountability are part of everyday life.
Our on-campus students have access to an on-site classroom that is open for study and use at any time, providing a dedicated space for prayer, research, and group learning. This environment fosters a close-knit academic and spiritual community that strengthens both personal growth and ministry preparation.
Just like our online students, on-campus students also participate in one required lecture at the main campus each month, ensuring consistency across all programs. Alongside classroom learning, students engage in hands-on training and supervised ministry internships, gaining valuable credit hours while serving in local churches, hospitals, nursing homes, and correctional facilities.
This model allows students to enjoy the benefits of community living and daily access to a classroom environment while still participating in the structured monthly lecture and practical training that define the TSK experience.

Affordable Tuition at the Theological Seminary of Kentucky
At the Theological Seminary of Kentucky, we believe that answering the call to ministry should never be hindered by overwhelming financial costs. For that reason, our tuition is structured to remain affordable, straightforward, and accessible, while still offering a fully accredited education that prepares students for both ministry and chaplaincy.
On-Campus Tuition
For students who wish to live and study on site, tuition is $20,000 for two years. This all-inclusive cost covers:
Tuition for all courses (Associate through Ph.D. pathways)
Housing in our student living facilities
Utilities including electric, water, and Wi-Fi
Access to our on-campus classroom, available for study and instruction at any time
Direct mentorship and academic support from an on-site professor
On-campus living is more than just a place to stay—it is a Christ-centered community where students grow together in faith, fellowship, and learning. However, because of the responsibility and maturity required to live on campus, certain requirements must be met before approval is granted. Students must demonstrate academic commitment, spiritual maturity, and a willingness to abide by community standards in order to be accepted into on-campus housing.
Online Tuition
For students who need the convenience of distance learning, tuition is $8,000 for two years. This program provides the same high-quality, accredited instruction as our on-campus students, with full access to online lectures, resources, and assignments. Online students also participate in our monthly in-person lecture at the main campus, ensuring that they still benefit from personal connection, accountability, and face-to-face instruction.
Payment Options
We understand that finances look different for every student, so TSK offers flexible payment options:
Pay in Full: Students may pay the full tuition amount upfront.
Weekly Payment Plan:
Online Students: $75 per week
On-Campus Students: $200 per week
These weekly plans allow students to pursue their calling without taking on burdensome student loan debt.
Financial Aid Policy
As a religious college, the Theological Seminary of Kentucky does not participate in federal or state financial aid programs. This means we do not offer government-based student loans or grants. Instead, we intentionally keep tuition costs low and offer manageable weekly payment options so that every student—regardless of financial background—has the opportunity to receive a fully accredited theological and chaplaincy education.
In summary, TSK provides one of the most affordable accredited seminary programs in the nation. With both on-campus and online options, flexible payment plans, and an intentional focus on community and practical ministry training, our goal is to make ministry preparation accessible to every student who feels called to serve.
